Dr. 玛西娅韦伯 has taught a wide variety of psychology courses for both graduate and undergraduate students. Her scholarship focuses on understanding religious stigma toward psychological disorders. Her article “Toward a Theology of Mental Illness” outlines some of the problems with this stigma and offers preliminary ideas about alternative theological approaches toward mental illness.

Dr. Webb is also interested in suffering as a theological construct, and its relation to the psychological study of stress, 创伤, and post-创伤tic growth. As part of this scholarship, she also studies anger toward God, from both a theological and a psychological perspective. Her article “The Book of Job: A Psychologist Takes a Whirlwind Tour” considers these areas of scholarship as they apply to the story of the biblical character Job.

我为什么在网易彩票下载教书

玛西娅韦伯, Associate Professor of 心理学

“I teach at SPU because I recognize that knowledge is power. 思想塑造网易彩票app的生活. While some ideas may justify ignorance and injustice, others serve as the foundation of innovation, 转换, 与和解. Liberal arts education exposes students to the wisdom of the ages at the same time that it challenges students with the most advanced of contemporary academic theory and practice. Young adults empowered through a liberal arts education are better equipped to assume the responsibilities of the future world. They are better prepared to assume the leadership that will ultimately be required of them as adults in our society.”
